S57 Review

Written by Amstel Flanders at 02:08 3/8-2021

It's that time again. Another season has ended and it's time to have a look to the past. When season started, the team was sitting at Div 7 and expecting good things in the first races. At day 10, Sam “Iranman” Azargoshasp won his first race of the season in the Netherlands. After another result, manager decided it was good to stop and sign up to Sanreizan again. A few days before the start of the race, Amstel Flanders notified that team boss was again in hospital and it was impossible for him to set any other tactics during the tour. At least Sam managed to get a second place in the first stage and the 6th place in the SC.

It was disappointing. But life hasn't been nice to L.J Williamson lately. For the second part of the long season, Sam brought more results to the team, two wins and a third place. The squad joined the second tour of the season, a long trip to Namibia to participate at Oryx. Sam proved to be in good shape, despite the race profile, he managed to get a result in the first stage and ride in the favorite's group. Until last stage, Iranman was sitting in the top 15 and surprising his team mates, however; he lost 8 minutes in the last stage to finish 29th but very happy.

With his result, Sam Azargoshasp claimed the national jersey from Soleyman Zarindoost, rider of Team Oasis. Manager Williamson was extremely happy with that milestone and some other top 9’s led the team to Div 5 for the first time. Just on time to apply for the third and last tour of the season, FoW. With so many good contenders, at Amstel Flanders, the only thing we were expecting, at least a top 20 in a stage. Again, Sam surprised and claimed two results and the 3rd overall in the SC. With 3 off days, it was a miracle to finish so high.

We cannot forget another milestone, Sam’s debut with NT. Of course, he didn't have any leading role, but two races. It doesn't matter, we need him fresh for the team that pays his bills hehehe. In the training department, Hubert Van Espen completed his training in short time and Mark Geraerts is almost ready. Mark will be our hill sprint man, if all goes well for him.

3 wins and 10 results, a decent season for a humble and new team. No luxury, no bikes and no staff. Sam brought all the points (386) and now wears the national jersey, 20 days now since the overtake. Our goal next season is to finish in Div 5, and try to reach Div 4 at any point of the season. We are going to miss the Awards ceremony as usual, those trophies were bought by Umbrella Corp., sponsored by Skynet.

In a few days we will introduce our line up and some words from them and goals for the new season.

PD: Don’t wait till the fat lady sings.

Amstel Flanders at 22:01 3/8-2021
That would be a target for S59 or 60. I need to stop in Div 4 first ;)

Silenzio at 21:19 3/8-2021
'Come mister Williamson' , Sam cried. 'I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!'

Congrats and hope to see you soon in D3 :)
